Optional | Talent Cancellation of Shifts

Worker Cancellation Configuration Options

Overview

Allowing talent to cancel their work from the app is a configurable feature that you can work with your Customer Success Manager to find the right fit for your workflows.

Configuration Options

Below are the details of each configuration option, how they work, and examples of what that experience would look like on the app for the talent.

Option 1: Don't Allow Talent to Cancel Their Shifts

If you do not want to allow workers to cancel their shifts, on the job details page of their committed shifts, when they click "Change" and then "Cancel Me", they will not be able to cancel the shift(s).

Option 2: Talent Can't Cancel Within X Hours

In this scenario, we can allow talent to cancel their shifts within a certain amount of time before the shift start time. After that timeframe, we can block them from being able to cancel.

Talent Can Cancel within X hours before the start time of the shift

  • If the talent is outside of the specified number of hours, they are still able to cancel

Then, talent cannot cancel once inside X hours before the start of the shift

  • If the talent is within the specified number of hours that you do not allow the worker to cancel, they will see a message preventing cancellation

Note: Neither option will send the information back to any ATS; it is not part of our current flows.

Option 3: Talent Cancels, Job Requeues

In this scenario, we are able to allow talent to cancel the shift, and then set up the option to have the shifts "requeue". This means that the job order will send out again to the same talent it sent out the first time to try to find someone to pick the shift up. (This does not require recruiter intervention as it is automatic)

Requeue of a Job When a Worker Cancels If a talent cancels on the app anytime before X hours before the start of the shift, the job will automatically requeue and send out as an offer to the original distribution list that the original job order was sent to.

Notes:

  • If the original job type was "interest", the requeing will send it out as an "offer" to try to quickly fill the shift
  • When using requeue, our system does not consider a worker canceling a true cancel since requeue is on. Therefore it will not ask them what their cancellation reason is
  • Requeueing the job is sending the job order back out to the same talent that were notified of the job the first time it was sent, not any new talent

Option 4: Worker Can Cancel

Worker Cancel without Requeue Configured When a talent cancels, the talent would be prompted to enter their cancellation reason.

Notes:

  • If there are more than one shift in the job order, the worker will be asked if they want to cancel the one shift, or all remaining shifts
  • The worker cancellation reason does not flow back to any ATS; it is not part of our current flows
  • We do not have a way to display this information anywhere at this time

Contact Button Alternative

If a client wants to prevent a worker from canceling on the app, but provide them with the Contact button to reach their recruiter, they can.

Workers can use the Contact button on the job to get in touch with the recruiter that posted the job through:

  • If you are using WorkN unintegrated, no action needed - the contact button will pull the admin's phone number from their admin profile on the WorkN web portal
  • If you are using an integrated version of WorkN, then we can work together to pull the admin's contact information from the ATS to show when the talent clicks on the Contact Button. You're able to decide if you want the worker to have the option to call the admin, text the admin or both.
